Goldenrod is very prolific and can appear anywhere. As far as your neighbor goes I am sure he did not plant the stuff on his fields and he is not reqired to worry about your hay land. The best cure is to plow and plant a new hay crop evey few years. I believe that if you don't do that you are not a farmer but a miner.
