I've been involved with home garage projects for many a year. The starter gave up on the 1 ton. Years back ( about 10 years ) I rebuilt the starter from parts from another starter and yesterday all it would do is click, like a starter relay. Sure wasnt that. Pulled it apart and son spotted the problem right away. It was the brass sleeve underneath the top cover that the Bendix plunger drops down and energizes the starter to engage the Bendix.Now a new starter installed (limited lifetime) so keeping the old one for spare parts so if the plow truck starter gives out were good to go,if it doesn't have the same problem. Has any one ever found the same problem and been able to make repairs? Regards LOU/
