Okay more info. As is usaully the case due to either my Solar was running or I was plugged into shore power and my Xantrex Truecharge2 charger (when on floats at 13.15) had charged my four house batteries (its seldom they go down very much at all), they were setting there at 12.7 volts (NOT outside and no solar input which takes it to 13.8 depending on sun and angle), so I started the RV engine and after 10 seconds heard the relay click and the engine loaded slightly AND THE HOUSE BATTERY VOLTAGE RAISED TO 14.3.....
Sooooo I place a DC induction ammeter tight against the cable that goes back to the 4 coach batteries AND IT ONLY READ 25 AMPS and after only 3/4 mins of running it was down to like 20 amps.
Ima thinkin I dont have a problem or need to worry about overloading my alternator and may not even fool with an over ride on/off for the engine to house battery connection solenoid
