I find I'm doing the same thing. I was discing some stalk ground today at about 1200 rpms and just idling along. The ride wasn't rough and I got done as fast as I had to. Then I planted some cover crop the same way, and still was doing about 4 mph. Plenty fast enough.
On another note, when the cop stopped me, and asked what I was doing, the war department told him not to start an argument with me when I was drinking.....
