The Key Stone pipe line is to primarily carry Canadian sand oil to the gulf to be shipped where ever (mostly to China) but some oil from the ND fields will be able to be shipped on it to if it's ever approved.
ND has a huge surplus in their state budget and are trying to figure out how to use it. Maybe the state should look at building a refinery.
Most of our politicians are so busy trying to kiss up to everyone that they make promises like oil independence. Then they also promised the greens that they will work hard a reducing emissions. They promised the farmers they would do something for them.
Well someone came up with a plan called renewable energy. It's called ethanol and bio fuels. Now the politicians can claim that they kept all those promises.
As a retired soldier I can honestly say IMO that we should develop our own oil and then keep or nose out of the Mideast.
