I need to clarify what I wrote below because I should not have assumed that your non farm income was from a job and subject to with holdings, what I should have said was if you have paid 90% of the total tax you ultimately owe from all sources by January 15 of the current year then you will not be subject to penalties on April 15th -- most people working a job where payroll taxes are withheld easily meet this requirement even when they have some outside income.
