Tough one.

I can support trying to make a better world. Its messy, ugly, hurts along the way, but I can still get behind it, if I sure don't look forward to it.

The trouble is, where do we go on this one? Seems to be 3 fractions over there in Middle East, all three hate us, and we kinda feel likewise towards them.

So, do we continue to replace one rotten group with the next rotten group, and how does that help?

It is not like we will find a democracy or a republic hiding under a rock over there. We will, again, end up with an unstable gov that is corrupt, looks out for itself while crapping upon its citizens, and will hate us.

I cannot see a real change happening there.

So, what are we trying to gain, what is the goal?

Iroq 1 beat back a bad guy that was trying to reach out too far.

Iraq 2 toppled the bad guy because he didnt come to his senses.

Afghanistan 1 eventually did get another bad guy, tho took a whole lot and used up a whole lot of good will in the process.

None of these were great and wonderful, but they did have a goal. And that goal was perhaps achieved.

I have not heard, or been told, what the goal is with this one. I understand the leaders of that country are rotten and bad and harmful to itS own people. But what is our goal? To lob a few missiles at them and really tick the off?

I need to hear a better goal to get on board with this.

I understand Isreal is in peril, I'm not sure us stirring the pot is helpful to their well being.

I understand there are issues with oil and Russia and energy reserves flowing through these various govt.

I see the side, or perhaps the real, issues....

But I do not understand the point, or the goal, we are after here.

What is the mission?

I can't get behind it if I don't know what it is we are trying to accomplish.

Paul

Today's Featured Article - The 8N and the Fox - by Zane Sherman. Dec. 13 1998, Renfroe, Alabama. Last niht I dreamed about the day that I plowed the field of about 10 acres over on what Jimmy and Dandy called the Ledbetter field. I was driving the 1948 8N Ford tractor that Jimmy bought in 48 new This was prebably in about 1951 and maybe even befor the house was built. This would have made me to be about16 years old and I drove the tractor for nothing and would have paid to drive it if I had had any money which I didn't, but neit ... [Read Article]
