I just renewed my license. Had to remove glasses and cap for the pic. I got a temporary to carry me over till the new one arrived. The pic on the temp was black and white and made me look like I was 100 years old. It emphasized any crease I had in my skin. When I got my renewal my face looked like it was supposed to.
So I'll agree about the facial recognition.
Other thing is that you had to give them 2 thumb prints. So now they have your face, your fingerprints, your signature, and your SSN in their computer. If you are a dooms day freak then it's really bad news. But hopefully it will work for the general public safety.
