I would stay away from Fox or any other company that is no longer in business. This also means Gehl too. They are dropping support on just about all of there AG equipment unless it is a skid steer.
The cheapest main line would be NH. The 717, 718 are the oldest I would conceder. The 770 and 782 are newer. It depends on your budget. You should be able to get a fairly good NH chopper under $3000. In the off season even less than that.
Stay away from a JD 3800. The "J" knife pulls hard. You do not have enough tractor to sue one of them. The newer 3900 series will bring more money than the NH.
With either NH or JD you will be able to get parts for the future. The rest of the brands are a big unknown.
