After a little more study work, I may have to pass on strawberries for now. I was with the understanding that they were worth around $8/lb but learning now maybe $3/lb at retail. At that price, I just cannot justify daily labor along with all the lest and disease issues that come with that. We also have another 35 acres that I am not sure what to do with yet. We were pushing to make something happen in hay but I simply hate the market. Already tired of dealing with people that would rather buy mixed (weeds) hay for $5 less that premium clean Oat hay. I am not going to get rich in hay anyway. I just need to keep something on the ground to keep it cleaned up. I prefer something that pays....
