I have lived here for 21 years my house has t-111 it was painted before I bought the place and still is in good condition. All siding has to breath or it gets wet and you have trouble. They putting plastic on the inside and outside of the framing it caused mor damaged than it saved in heating and cooling. Walt PS my house is 142 years old and stil in good condition the walls breath and keep the moisture out.
