That model of tractor is prone to over heating issues. Especially the cab models. You can hardly see one around here with a cab on it. Then you throw in some shifter issue they are a white elephant around here.
One fellow that had one here got a heater out of the back of a school bus. The kind that has it own fan and core in a sheet metal box. HE mounted it on top of the cab with a screen around it. HE had the fan wired up to where he could make it change direction with a switch. He would run that heater on days it was hot. It dropped the temperature of the water 40 degrees or more on real hot days. Then when the chaff filled the screen he would reverse the fan for a minute or two.
So your either going to have to help the cooling system out or do as Bruce did and trade the LEMON for a better cab tractor. IF you keep running it hot like that the engine will not last long. Then you will be dropping more money into it.
