George, I'm waiting for Part II of your post, where you tell us the good news that didn't get reported. Perhaps the good news is that this event won't be allowed to be held in Terre Haute next year and that its organizers are under criminal investigation.

Or were you just making a joke that nobody got?

Let's compare it with another, albeit larger, organized event: the Experimental Aircraft Association convention/airshow in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Attended by hundreds of thousands of people and tens of thousands of aircraft, it attracts a wide cross section of attendees. Airplanes from J-3 Cubs to P-51s and commercial airliners fly in. People also arrive in cars, RVs and quarter-million dollar motor homes. Nonetheless it is very well-organized and safe. Assault and larcency are unheard of at Oshkosh. That said, every year there are a few accidents at or near the airshow, sometimes fatal. Not surprising given the number of aircraft in close proximity. These accidents are dutifully reported by the local press. Some, like the crash of Jack Roush's corporate jet a few years ago, receive national attention. Yet I've never heard anyone say "they only report the bad news about Oshkosh", even though the convention receives little attention outside Wisconsin.
