Hatched a diabolical plan

A couple of posts made me come up with a plan that just HAS to happen. Larry's post about the fancy old JDs and then a picture of the Ford, and one on the Oliver forum a week or so ago asking if it was OK to use John Deere green paint on an Oliver 550 got my mind working.

I was just unloading feed, looking at the 1020 Deere sitting there in the barn with all those Olivers was too tempting. I don't care if I sell it or not after having it for 32 years, but it's gonna be a project alright, just not an original type of restoration project. She's pretty rough. I think the loader is about to come off. That roached out old seat is gonna be replaced by a new black Tisco. The Deere emblem has to come off the front. I have an Oliver emblem here off of a 1600. That thing's gonna be sharp with Oliver Meadow Green and Clover White paint! I'm thinking decals for an Oliver 1255. They were a 3 cylinder like the 1020.

That thing's gonna start showing up at shows when I'm done with it. I'll fill people's heads so full of crap. When anybody tells me it looks like a Deere,I'll say ya,Deere was loosing customers left and right with those worthless 1010 and 2010 tractors. They came to Oliver begging for a decent tractor to sell,so the 1020 was an Oliver 1255 and the 2020 was a 1355. Then after the whole White debacle Deere bought the tooling and sent it to Germany to build the 30 and 40 series utilities.

ROFLMAO This is the kind of idea that can put a spring back in a guys step again. This is gonna be too much fun!
