lyle niemi, St. Mary of the woods college heats their entire place with wood chips. People drop off limbs and branches, they chop them up.
Over 50 years a furniture factory used saw dust to heat their factory and kiln dry the wood. The guy made up a real neat hopper for the saw dust. Had a fan rigged up to blow the saw dust in to the boiler past a gas pilot light. The saw dust burned like a blow torch.
Most sawmills generate lots of sawdust. This would generate free heat for you.
Sawmills in my area now ship their sawdust to places that make wood pellets for corn burning stoves too.
BTW, My dad's hobby was an old 48 inch bellsaw sawmill. I think he did it just to make sawdust.
