In another post, I posed the question as to why the power was so far from the thresher. RayP(MI).550Doug, and Sam Drucker, I appreciate the answers, they all make sense. When I was a kid Grand Dad had his wheat threshed by a "travelin' threshing machine". I was fascinated by the equipment but was not allowed close enough to really see anything. But I do remember the long belt and a cloud of dust. This was in the late 1940s. Thanks again for your answers. Lowell
