I know nothin but seems I remember someone saying in a certain area enough people bitched about cell service enough they finally investigated and found a transmitter on the tower not working. They are directional like the spokes on a wheel. If the one pointing towards you isn't working, your going to get poor service even if those around you are ok. Sound reasonable? Like I said, I know nothin, just something I overheard in a conversation.
We were on Alltel here and when they were bought out by AT&T, the signal strength was cut in half. We were told they had to share tower space/strength with another company until all the merger stuff was up to speed. It never happened. Its been years and still no improvement. I can see the tower lights blinking outside my window just 5 miles away and can't get a decent signal.
