I use JD 336. Have 2 of them. 1 never misses, the other does. The twine tension at the box is the difference, and when I loosened up the bad one, it improved immediately. We raise sheep too and can't have plastic twine in the wool. Zero. Contrary to popular belief, the twine that gets into wool is the little 1" cut pieces that get on every bale during the knotting. I used plastic to bale straw once and they were everywhere in the wagon. A real no-no for wool. I use 9000 on first cutting grass / alfalfa as it is more compressible, and 7200 on later cutting bales, as they come out like bricks.
