Never tried to sew with grass, at least, not dumb enuf to try more than one finger at a time. But, to your credit, new medical discoveries are being made all of the time. I built a hook from an old piece of 1/2" rod, about 3' long by bending about four inches of each end a bit over 90 degrees and welding an old mower section onto one end. I carry it on the tractor I bale with or in the twine box for such occasions. It's saved many tangles with thistles and other needle like things sometimes in hay, and can be used somewhat like a rake to unplug those tough spots a whole lot easier...
