It is a 4000HP Clark natural gas engine.
They are having issues with uneven mixture causing detonation. The last overhaul cost $3.5 million. The ignition and fuel injection are on dedicated controllers, the interlocks and boost control are in a PLC. I do the PLC work. The total cost for this project will be about $750K, with my part a small portion of that.
A side benefit is reduced NOx and supposed to be a 3% increase in fuel economy.
