Thanks for the replies. The club does pay the insurance for the event but because it's a smaller event than their main series races and they don't know how many riders will show up, they somehow figure I should take some of the risk and pay for the ambulance. The insurance specifies that an ambulance be on site. Last year I got lucky and it was rained out. I say lucky because they wanted me to also pay for the lap scorers and a portion of the trophies. They said I can look for sponsors to help with some of the costs. This club is a registered non profit and has money in the bank and isn't suffering at all. I feel it should be up to them to promote their events and not ask a track owner to subsidize them. It makes no sense to me that a club that has received large grants wants to put the risk on me personally. They have 2 tractors with implements and a side by side that were purchased with gov't. grants. They lose a little on an event, big deal, it's not like it's anyone's personal risk like they want me to take.
