Sounds almost like Nashville, TN in 2010. Nashville recieved over 20 inches of precipitation in less than 48 hours. It was a real mess. My parents live around 50 miles south of Nashville and only recieved around 18 inches in two days but that was enough to close main highways for several months. They used pig paths and logging roads on ridegetops to get everywhere. Getting anywhere required using dirt roads for many miles. My mothers car stayed parked for a few months. They went everywhere in the 4X4. Large freight had to take 60-80 mile detours.
Hopefully at least the main roads wont be destroyed in your area.
