It's great that you are willing to help the old guy out. MIL is in her late 70's. She still does a lot but there are some things she needs help with. Snow removal and downed trees (when they happen) being 2. She has a son that lives about 6 blocks from her who does what he can but has heart issues so he's limited He has to adult sons at home that think that if they do anything they should be paid. Another son lives about 2 miles away and has a lazy streak and a sense of entitlement, will not even talk about his kids. Another son is 25 miles away, has 4 kids plus a full time job with a 60 miles one way commute. SO he has trouble getting down to help but does what he can. Son number four is over 100 miles away. So when things go wrong I get the call. I also drive there in the tractor and blow her drive. She is kinds funny. Out and out problem that need attention right now she comes right out and says what the problem is. All other calls start with "I really hate to bother you". She's a good old girl so I do what I can for her.
