I am assuming you mean oil leak...yes it could be your rear main seal or ot could be your trans input bearing at the bac of the drive shaft...either way it"s a split, almost any tractor repair place can/will do that, but it sure is not a hard thing to do yourself! I would also reccomend that ya do what needs to be done as far as new clutch and rotating or replacing your ring gear while you are in there! Need more specifics on the popping noise in the tranny....is it coming from the tranny, or is the motor popping? As far as your temp guagem take the sensor end out, hild a flame under it and see if the needle moves, you may simply just not be running the tractor enought to get things warm.
