A neighboring farmer and good friend of mine who is I think 66 years old tried to borrow a little money to buy a 240 acre farm and was denied because he had no credit history. He had farmed his whole life and never borrowed money or had a credit card. He probably had enough saved for a 75% down payment. He eventually did get the farm and paid it off in six or seven years. It's too bad the conservative person who deals in cash is technically thought of as a bad risk. Jim
