Sounds like a guy here. He's passed away back in the mid 60s,but they said he went in to the local bank in the 20s wanting a loan and they turned him down. I guess he got up and told them he'd have money when they closed the doors of that place. They claim he was driving a herd of cattle down main street the day they locked the bank during the depression. Said he hollered at'em and said I told you so.
He held the mortgage on a lot of houses around here for a lot of years. I know his widow still held a few and was still loaning money in the mid 70s. They say at one time he owned all the milk routes and all the trucks hauling in to the local milk plant.
