Wayne; You really need to read between the lines when it comes to these wells.
If they put the fire out then they have raw product dumping into the gulf. No one can get near it in fear of it catching fire again. The rig is so damaged from fire no one could get around the leak to fix it.
There was one boat that tried to get close enough to work on the fire but stuff on the boat was melting from the heat. A larger boat with a bigger pump has been called in but some are hinting they may just let it burn. Coast Guard has a perimeter setup. No one within 5 miles of the rig.
Local fishermen say it should not effect the local tarpon rodeo this weekend.
