Ran onto a little paperback ina used book store called "The Golden Age of Homespun". Put out bu the NYS Ag Society or Historical Soc. back in the 50's. The book deals mainly with Schoharie Co. and his familys doings there pre Civil War. Interesting stuff.
I used to work with a guy from Schoharie, last name Lawyer, real sharp guy. Found int hat book that Lawyer was an old name in that area. Last time I was there was when the Thruway bridge collapsed! Been some time I guess.
An equally nice view is heading north out of Lowville up 12N. You get the whole Black River Valley and part of the St Lawrence Valley laid out for you. I can't imagine what the view costs though......
