I have a lot of brush hogging to do later this summer. we have had so much rain that it looks like standing water on 45 degree slopes. Just found out that pontoons were never available as an add on for my MF 175. So, I guess duals are the only way to keep my head above water.
I have some old tires, and some rims off a different tractor.
How bad will 16.9x28's fit on a 12" rim?? Will they bulge up and be taller than the inner tires that are on 15" rims? I am only using them for flotation, traction is not an issue.
I will probably roll my own bands. How wide do they need to be, and how thick the steel?
On the front I now have 235-85/R16 steel belt radial pickup tires. How much bigger do I need to go to make a significant improvement in the flotation on that end? I would like to stay with steel belted because of thorns and such, but might think about aircraft tires.
