On some engines it's normal to get some clicking on start up. How often do you change your oil? I was at a friends auto repair shop when he was working on a Ford pick up that had used synthetic oil... for 35,000 Kms. between changes. 3 motor flushes and it was still not clean. When they took the valve covers off it looked like it was full of shredded rubber. I don't know if it's a good idea to mix a bunch of different additives to the oil. I've never had an engine problem relating to oil. I had to rebuild an engine because of a hole in the oil pan but that's not the oils fault. If it's tappet noise, maybe they just need adjusting?
