Sounds like you have indeed found a 25-V,27-V,or even a #31 mower. A picture would help "Nail" it. The mower shown below is a 25-V. IH made a adapter package to mount these mowers not only on IH tractors,like your C,but other tractor makes too. For the C-Super C, a cable was used,along with a pulley setup clamped under the LH rear axle,up to and pinned to the Touch Control rockshaft to raise and lower the cutterbar.
