JD, I have 2 6 ft mowers, one on an IHC and the other on a Jubilee. If a tenant lets their yard get too tall, I bring in the big tractors. I find just the opposite. The only way I can cut really tall grass is angle the mower decks up in the front. If the grass is over a foot, that's the only way I can do it. Sometimes have to cut it twice. By angling the deck upward, the grass gets cut many time in smaller pieces, takes less hp, less stress on the belts, and doesn't choke up the discharge. I think it does a better job angles upward in really tall grass. May do a better looking job on short grass is the deck is level. After having 3 dry summers, I'm cutting at 3+ inches to allow the roots to go deeper. Try to mow once a week. Some yards are coming back. George
