Good for her! I love seeing young folks that are "taking hold" and making something of themselves, and not just making a career out of texting with their friends and posting to Facebook.
We had used an older guy for years for shoeing, because he is very good at shoeing "gaited" horses (you have to have just the right angle on the hoof, and several other tricks, or a Paso Fino or Walker won't gait properly). But he just upped his price (again), and added a $20 "trip charge", so wifey had had enough. She had heard about a girl (19, I think) who could could shoe Pasos, so tried her- $10 less per horse, no trip charge- and she is fast, pleasant, and eager for the work. And the one Paso who usually has to be urged to gait, did better on her shoeing than on the other guys. So we have a new farrier!
