They say that people can catch leprosy from armadillo's. It is one of the few diseases that can jump from animals to humans such as HIV and the flu.
BUT armadillos are indigenous to the Americas. And leprosy was not present in the Americas before Christopher Columbus came here. So that means humans gave leprosy to armadillos not the other way around.
