Ya,I've been thinking back to other years similar to this. I thought I had saved a newspaper with my picture in it when I was interviewed about the wet June we were having, but it must have gotten tossed. I wanted to know what year that was. Big difference that year was that we were getting desperate dry before it set in raining and the corn was all in and up. Another year, about 30 years ago,I started planting corn June 6th,got stuck almost every day for a week, but it got dryer every day and I got all but 20 acres in. I got my hay up and planted the last 20 acres of silage corn July 8th. This year is just over the top. I figured I could get going again today. Had a load of fertilizer delivered, was just waiting for that rain to pass. Every TV station said it would dive south of us and at most we'd get a few tenths. Well....it trained right over me from 4pm yesterday until 5am today. Forecast is for rain again Saturday night,Sunday and Monday.
I've always heard it said that a dry year will hurt you,a wet year will ruin you. It's probably going to happen. This could very well be my last year. If I do get any silage corn in,I'll be filling silo when I should be picking corn, then be picking corn in the snow,so I won't get any stalks baled.
I'm afraid I might have to stay off here the rest of the day too. I'm pretty short tempered from not sleeping all night. I just layed there seething all night listening to it rain.
Best I try to get a nap before my heart gives up and stops.

In our previous article we discussed capscrews, bolts, and nuts along with their relative hardness and thread sizes. In this segment we will finish up on our fasteners and then work with ways to keep them from loosening up in the field. Capscrews, bolts and nuts are not the only means of holding two parts together. When dealing with thinner metals like sheet tin, a long bolt and
