I have always been told corals rarly exceed 18" but the link says 3'is common and 5'is possiable. We don't see them in NE Texas but they have been found around Ft Hood. I guess the eastern states are trying to oust Texas as the grow-um big state because I understand the eastern rattler gets larger than our diamond back. I for one will gladly alow them bragging rights on snakes. What troubles me about corals is thier colors make them irisistable for children to handle.
