Probably the easiest way is to choose files that are in jpg format and save them to a place that you can find i.e. 'libraries-pictures' and give them a name.
When you need the image file use 'browse' and go to the folder and open the file that you want. With most programs that will load the file.
Many problems with images being inserted in print or uploaded to websites is the files are way too big.
An image to be placed on a website say YT cannot be displayed at more than 72ppi. more or less so that 12 megapixel image of a rusty Farmall is about 15 times too large.
Many programs, web based or print will choke on that large of a file.
