If you still have the black seed cups and beans are less than 2700 seeds per lb.[large] the seed cups were not a very accurate .Kinze made a metering system and JD also made a much better replacement.It has been quite a few years so my memory might be rusty but I do remember something about setting the population and you had three different row spacing charts.My quess would be seed cups.Most people overplant beans including myself[9/10 per foot]when according to our extension people after a hail storm 4/5 will have equal yield as they adapt by putting on more pods.
