To apply chemicials around berries here is a simple way. Just use regular Roundup at a 50% mixed rate. Just mix up a gallon or so in a small bucket. Then put a GOOD rubber glove on your hand. Then put a cotton glove over the rubber glove. Then just dip your fingers into the mix. Then just touch the leaves on the plants you want killed among the berries. You are just using the glove like a weed wick.
A commercial grower showed me this trick years ago in his straw berries. It is simple and cheap way to control weed in tender plants.
