Used to go every year. Was there the day Jimmy Hurtabise broke the 150 MPH barrier with a roadster. No interest anymore.
Loved the Offys, Novi's, Chevy small blocks(tho not competitive). Some great drivers LLoyd Ruby, Roger Ward, Troy Ruttman. Things change. Got to know some of the guys through business. Unsers were (Bobby and Al) great fun, Foyt a real jerk but he sure could drive. Rick Mears quiet and shy.
Was with my Dad, standing in line at 5am when I was 10 years old, slept in the car, ate breakfast beside the car, great memories.
