It should not cause heating issues as it is designed to keep coolant circulating when the thermostat is closed, preventing hot spots and providing even temp rise. Use an infared hand held laser guided thermometer to see if the radiator has major cool spots on it indicating plugged tubes, or blocked air passages. Jim
