Larry has it right. The race now is just who has the deepest check book. Anyone who has a 10-20 million they want to throw away they can get a car out there with some time.
I liked the old days when there actually where local teams that would run the race. They rarely got in the top tiers but they at least could get on the track.
I liked the drivers that crossed back and forth too. They would drive NASCAR and then run Indy too. They are not made like old AJ Foyt, Richard Petty and others where. Now it is some pretty boy or pin up girl that get the news coverage whether they can drive or not.
