Is there a way to control these things without using pesticides?
I've heard mention of pheromone traps but I assume that's just to use as indicators as of when the moth is becoming abundant in the corn fields.
I've heard of folks painting the tassels with mineral oil so the larva can't crawl up the tassels and into the ear. Never tried it.
Other than that I've only heard of pesticides being used to control these things.
I know they like my g-90 and in the past I've just broken off their end of the ear when processing my corn but it would be nice to have a few full ears of corn every now and then.
