Very sad. 51 confirmed dead. 20 of those are children. They estimate the death toll will be over 90. Over 250 injured. 39,000 without power or water.
As said below, two elementary schools were hit. One totally destroyed. Sad thing is, they kept the kids at school thinking they would be safer in that structure than in a home.
Tornado was at least 1/2 mile wide. Winds at least 200. That makes it a 4 on a scale of 5.
More severe weather in the forecast for today.
My heart grieves for those people. Cannot imagine how awful it would be to drop your child off at school and learn later that day, they had been killed.
