It"s a royal pain. If you look for the tile labeled "desktop", click on that and then it works more like windows 7. That"s all I use. Windows 8 only works well with touch screens and even then it is written by computer geeks who love computers more than we love tractors and can"t imagine that there is more to life than their screens. Everything made sense on windows xp but things do "dead end" on windows 8.
