Same here, in our area something like 90% of the land was clear in 1930 or so. Its at about 15% clear now. My woods is full of 70 year old trees as the boys went off to war and never kept the fields cut. Huge rock piles all throughout. Of the 300 or so acres that my neighbour used to farm 20 years ago I think about 100 is still clear. I'm only in my mid 30's but a field I hayed as a boy has 10" poplar trees in it now.
Between my two large fields is 7 acres of woods ready to harvest. Its rock free and levelled, just full of 12-16" diameter trees.
