My prayers are with everyone on this message going through some form of illness or end of life experience. I performed my dad"s funeral on Saturday. I got through the service but yesterday was difficult. It was harder than I thought. He was 91 and out lived everyone he once knew. He was in the nursing home four years and his mind was sharp until the end. He didn"t want to eat and only ate ice cream from July to December 2012. The nursing staff told me this is often the way people in nursing homes go. Their last control is what they eat. Knowing this helped me to help him down the path. He wasn"t a religious man but I said plenty of prayers for him. He farmed with his dad from age 7 to age 18 and then enlisted in the Army. Afterward, he again farmed with his father.
