930 case, I like the others are assuming you are talking of IH 300 Utility.
I agree the steering and linkage and front axle wear points are the negatives.
Positives are strong engine, same as Farmall (Row Crop)300.
Hopefully it has Fast Hitch, T/A,and Live P.T.O. These were also all positives but were all options also.
The 300 was only offered in gas and lpg. The 350 which followed the 300 had diesel option which was rare and highly collectible but not real practical as the Continental Diesel engine is very hard to get parts for.
Most replacement parts are still available for the 300. Styeering and T/A(torque amplifier)b can costly to repaire if tractor has been used hard, lots of hours, and abused.
Steering can be made to live with, without loader, with adjustment, proper tires, etc.
