Replaced some hoses and fittings today but am having a problem getting a union to stop leaking. Everything except these unions have a tapered seat inside and worked fine. I am joining two 1/2 inch male hoses together, the coupler is pipe thread but no taper inside, it does have a hex on the outside in the center and I was assured this was for hydraulic hoses. Question is... Is it ok to use tape, TPFE or some other type sealer on these threads? Thanks
