Wife inherited a couple of hives last winter - out of her dad"s barn. They wanted to throw them out, but I rescued them. Unfortunately, there"s going to be a lot of work before they"re usable. Then there"s getting a couple colonies of bees to populate them. Bee keeping in this area has been pretty hard hit with colony collapse. Don"t know if it"s even worth my trouble... Did I mention, I"m allergic to bee stings? Probably not fatal, but swell up and very painful. Still would like to try some. We did have a friend used to keep a few hives here, so not completely a novice.
